Ella was our first bulldog. She was a lovely lady - in all aspects, a true bulldog. She was very independent, active and alert, and yes, also stubborn at times, as bulldogs can be. Although she was a temperamentic girl, she had a very gentle character.

Ella's favourite pastime was playing with her with tug toy. It seemed that she would never get enough of the good thing. She would have liked to play with the toy and us at least ten times a day. She was also fascinated if problem solving. She was very skilfull in opening doors with her muzzle, finding various objects and using her head in every possible way. She loved car rides and wasn't ever bothered even in long rides to dog shows far away.

Ella loved attention. She knew that she got it in dog shows after "doing the trick". The best moment in dog shows was always after the show when she placed herself in front of her cage and beg people to cuddle her. And she always managed to get the attention, she just loved it.

Ella's special place was the backyard, where she liked to dig the grass and play with her beloved sofr Cruft's -football. She was quite skillfull in handling the ball. She was also miraculous in speedless height jumping, and would try to escape to the neighbours' side of the backyard every time she got the chance. Luckily the neihgbours understood her very well, Ella was the "queen" of the neighbourhood, she was everybody's pal.

Ella led us to an exciting world of dogs, dog shows and finally also breeding dogs. She herself never had any puppies of her own, but did great work in helping to bring up the first bulldog bred by us, Patsy (FIN CH Wheelback's African Queen). We think that she managed to pass on some of her lovely nature to the generations to come, as she was a great role model to Patsy and also her puppies.

Ella had a fine pedigree, she was a daughter of INT CH Young Count Kingrock and also had Kingrock and Aldrigre blood in her veins from her mother's side. Ella will always have a special place in our hearts, she will never be forgotten.

Ella was named after one of the great legends of jazz, Ella Fitzgerald. Both two ladies were very special.
